Drug and Alcohol Awareness Week: We want to support you to be safe and healthy

At GSU we understand that some students may drink or take drugs during their time at university or have had experiences with drugs and alcohol before attending university. We want to support you to be safe and healthy while you are studying and beyond.

If you believe that your relationship with drugs or alcohol has become problematic there is support available for you. You can get in touch with the Wellbeing team and talk about mental health and counseling support on: wellbeing@greenwich.ac.uk.

Helpful Resources:

  • Spectrum Life is the University’s Student Assistance Programme; through this, you can get support with substance use. Find out more about it here: Spectrum.Life
  • If you’d like to access support externally to the University, you can get in touch with WDP Greenwich, who offer 1-1 casework as well as group support: Greenwich | Westminster Drug Project
  • If you’d like honest information about drugs: talktofrank.com

SOS UK have produced a number of posters to raise awareness for Student Drug and Alcohol Awareness Week. Click on the images below to learn more about each topic.

Remember: if you are concerned about your drug or alcohol use or how it’s affecting you/your studies, you deserve support and there are places that you can talk to someone, in confidence, without worrying about getting in trouble.
